Month: August 2009

  • I came home yesterday from the day trip of visiting Nik at the Art School sick. I don’t travel well. I was so glad to see the baby. I kept him last night and shouldn’t have because he didn’t sleep well and I wasn’t feeling well. So tonight Ed will take him at 10 and I am going to bed.

Ben, Mom and I spent the day with Nik. It was so fun. He gave us a tour of the campus. Ben video taped the tour. I make Nik some treats and a care package. He was excited to see the goodies. He took us to one of the places he likes to hang out to have lunch. It was so cool. I miss him so much. He will be heading home September 19th.

  • I am soooo excited. Tomorrow, Ben and I are leaving at the crack of dawn to go see Nik at his school. We haven’t seen him in over four months. I just don’t look forward to the eight hour round trip drive. I don’t travel well. It wears me out. Ed, on the other hand loves to drive. That is why he decided to drive to Colorado instead of taking a free plane ticket. Crazy! I will never understand that one. ANYWAY, we are going to pick up my mother on the way up. Ed is going to take care of the baby tonight so I can get a good night sleep and then all day tomorrow while I am away. I am going to try to enjoy my “free time” and try not to think to much about little Eddie. If I do, I will miss him terribly. But, I am soooo excited to see my first born! And it is way up in the mountains so that is going to be fun. I LOVE the mountains! I hope it is going to be a good day. And a safe one also.

  • I was looking at some photos on my computer and came across a pic of Ed that has the same “look” as Eddie. If you removed Ed’s facial hair and if Eddie’s eyebrows were darker and not white…. doesn’t matter, they already look alike anyway.

  • I do believe my little man feels a LOT better today!

  • My sweet chunky monkey. He slept last night in his diaper only. Already becoming the typical man. Just the undies. LOL

  • Ben’s first day back to school (senior year) he ends up on the front of the local newspaper, The Herald. He is behind the kid wearing the blue malibu shirt. Ben has on the gray shirt with white letters and red on the shoulder. I called and made his appointment for his sports physcial. He is going to wrestle this year which makes me nervous. But this is his last year and then he is off to the air force. So I am going to make sure he has a blast this year and I am going to spend as much time as I can (or he allows) with him because once he is gone…. he’s gone.

  • I decided to “remodel” the front porch. So here is the start of it. I need lots and lots of more plants.

  • My dearest friend, Ronnie Bowers, back to work after being out for months due to health problems. We worked together at Attorney Bill Hancock’s for years. Ronnie and I worked together the first time at Attorney Mike Brown about 15 years ago. Ronnie is still with Hancock and I am a stay at home mom (which I love). Ed and I took baby Eddie by for his first visit with Ronnie. Ronnie has a very special place in my heart. Little Eddie is two months old and growing like a weed. He is gaining the weight (and I wish I was losing the weight).

Ed and I decided to do a little landscapping. It just so happens that when we drove up to the house with our new trees, there stood our dear son, Ben and his best friend, also named Ben. So…. we put the strong 17 year old boys to work. I love having a teenage son with helpful friends. lol
